How studying agriculture works in Brazil

Agricultural degrees are offered by federal and state universities, some of them specialized in agriculture, and by private institutions. Agronomy (Agronomia) takes a minimum of five years under national rules; related degrees include animal science (Zootecnia) and agricultural engineering. Brazil has a large graduate system of master's (mestrado) and doctoral (doutorado) programs overseen by CAPES. Federal institutes offer technical and technologist courses.
